Macerators are specialised plumbing units designed to allow toilets, basins, showers, and other sanitaryware to be installed in locations where traditional gravity-fed drainage is not practical. They work by breaking down waste into a fine slurry before pumping it through small-diameter pipework to the main soil stack or drain.
